CROWDED Berwick Railway Station is to get another 150 carparking spaces.
The existing parks on the north and south sides of the station are generally full before 8.30am and commuter vehicles spill into surrounding streets by 9am most days.
Gembrooke state Liberal MP Brad Battin said $1.1 million raised through the Growth Areas Infrastructure Contribution fund would pay for the new parks.
"There’s no question they’re needed," Mr Battin said.
"People are regularly parking on grassed areas of the station surrounds and in neighbouring streets during peak hours, Monday to Friday."
He said the upgrade would give Berwick station 950 car spaces, making it one of the largest on the network.
