Schools urged to host cyber safety day

Moonee Valley schools have been urged to host a cyber safety day on September 6.

LEADER is calling on Victorians to declare September 6 a zero cyber-bully day.

Support is growing for Leader Community Newspapers’ Don’t Hurt campaign to tackle cyber-bullying.

Schools and TV’s Masterchef finalist Callum Hann have joined our push to keep young people safe.

Victorian schools have been urged to make September 6 a cyber safety day, and teach children more about the Internet, social networking and the dangers of cyber-bullying.

As many as one in 10 children have reported being cyber-bullied.

A special awareness and action day also has the support of the Australian Secondary Principals Association, Victoria’s Department of Education, and The Alannah and Madeline Foundation.
